Dr. Hussein Armouti, Director of Programs, International Government and Defense, at The Boeing Company, is an Information & Communication Technology Executive with 30 years of combined experience in overall ICT; Industrial Automation, Smart Grid Solutions, Advanced Metering Infrastructure; large scale software design, development, and implementation; ERP, supply chain, military logistics; and enterprise wide transformation. Hussein successfully directed very complex and progressive initiatives, managed and motivated large teams in diversified domains and geographies, and transformed business vision into capability.

Prior to joining Boeing, Hussein led business solutions as Vice President at AllCell Technologies; and directed execution of the replacement of the process automation and control system for XALT Energy as Chief Information Officer.

Hussein was key player in developing and delivering technology and services to the Smart Grid projects of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi using the latest Internet of Things technologies. During his tenure at Amplex Emirates, Hussein was responsible for overall technology development, enterprise architecture, IT operations, technical support, and maintenance for 400K metering point Automated Meter Reading, Street Lighting Monitoring and Control for 7700 control cabinets, and Traffic Light UPS Monitoring and Control.

 

While at Pepsico in Chicago, Hussein led a team of transformation experts, at corporate level that customized and built state of the art Manufacturing Planning solutions, which transformed 100+ PepsiCo locations (Plants, Distribution Centers, Co-packers, and Mixing Centers) onto new Integrated Supply Chain Planning solutions and processes.

Hussein is a software engineering expert; he was chief architect and developer of several Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software solutions; have published several refereed papers in software engineering, contributed as a member of research groups, and adjunct professor of computer science.

 

Hussein received his Ph.D. in Computer Science in 1995 from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, and is TOGAF® Certified Enterprise Architect http://www.opengroup.org/togaf9/cert/. Hussein lives in Chicago with his family. When not working, Hussein enjoys outdoor running.
