Professor and Director of Master of Science in Computer Science

Dr. Khaled Alzoubi is a Professor in the Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences at Lewis University. He is also the director for the Master of Science in Computer Science program since August of 2016. Dr. Alzoubi received his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2002, where he was awarded with the Graduate Outstanding Academic Achievement Award. His dissertation was entitled “Virtual Backbones in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks.” Dr. Alzoubi published many papers in reputable and refereed journals and proceedings, and presented in many research conferences in the area of Wireless and Mobile Ad Hoc Networks. His research led to a US Patent titled “Technique for Establishing a Virtual Backbone in Wireless Ad Hoc Networks”. His current research interest focuses on establishing an infrastructure for centralized health record. Dr. Alzoubi received his M.S. degree in Computer Science from Northeastern Illinois University in 1991, and his B.S. degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Illinois in 1987. Dr. Alzoubi taught at Saint Xavier University for 13 years, where he held the position of Department Chair for the Computer Science Department, and the position of Program Director for the Master of Science in Applied Computer Science.
